Anti-freezing problem of closed water cooling tower in winter

In winter, the temperature in the northern part of the country is usually below zero. The problem of anti-freezing of the closed water cooling tower is becoming more and more important. If the solution is not good, the heat exchange tube or other components of the cooling tower may be frozen. According to different process characteristics, some of the closed cooling towers run all day in the winter, some of them run in part of the time, and some are almost unused. All need to consider the anti-freezing problem.

1. Closed water cooling towers that run all year round. If equipped with an electronic control system, the operation of the cooling tower may change due to the load change of the main system. Therefore, it is also necessary to consider the problem of anti-freezing. Unused equipment can be evacuated before winter to prevent freezing

2. If the closed water cooling tower does not need to be operated in winter, the spray water and internal circulating water must be drained when the machine is shut down. The internal circulating water is recommended to be forced to be emptied by compressed air with a pressure greater than 4 kg. The carbon steel tube heat exchanger is not recommended to be emptied.

3. Operation in part of the time zone The anti-freezing of the closed water cooling tower has two parts: the spray water system and the internal circulating water system (softened water). The anti-freezing problem of the spray water system usually increases the electric heater in the water tray, generally when the spray water is lower than 5 °C, and stops above 8 °C. The temperature probe transmits the signal to the control cabinet, which automatically controls the start and stop of the electric heater. The power selection of the electric heater is determined by the amount of circulating water and the outside air temperature. The anti-freezing of the internal circulating water system can be added with ethylene glycol solution or increased electric heating equipment.
